N.J. Senate OKs same-sex marriage bill
New Jersey state legislature passed the same-sex marriage bill, which Governor Chris Christie has vowed to veto. (UPI/David Handschuh/Pool)
(UPI) -- The New Jersey Senate voted 24-16 Monday afternoon to legalize gay marriage, a measure Gov. Chris Christie as vowed to veto.
The (Newark) Star-Ledger said the state Assembly is expected to take up the bill Thursday.
Two Republicans -- Sen. Jennifer Beck of Monmouth and Sen. Diane Allen of Burlington -- voted yes on the bill, the newspaper said. Two Democrats -- Sen. Ronald Rice of Essex and Sen. Jeff Van Drew of Cape May -- voted no.
The Senate would need 27 votes to override a Christie veto.
The Star-Ledger said Christie wants to put the issue of same-sex marriage before New Jersey voters in November.

about this, in Mike's words: Reptilian Predator , this Christie guy!!!!Mike is Excellent when it comes to sizing up the Republicans (no siusrrpe, of course). He knows what they are, Through and Through. I'm glad to learn some new information about this pile of self-inflated hubris, this Christie bastard, that I did not know before.Sadly, Many people are angry at Teacher's Unions. As the head of the Chicago Teacher's Union stated, on Democracy Now are there problems w/education? Can education stand to be reformed? Sure! But reformed, as opposed to Gutted 2 very Different things!!!Schools and teachers in the public venue have to take whoever walks through their doors and try to give each child a good education. It's Not teachers who are to blame, in most cases, if kids, who come from impoverished backrounds, or abused backrounds (which can be from any segment of the economic system, although if you are from an impoverished backround, I think, by definition, that is Also an abusive backround, given what you must contend with) anyway, it's Not most teachers who are at fault if these childrenCan't learn very well.Schools can only do so much with damaged children and there are Many, I am sure. From what I gather, Christie just wants to take a big hatched to the unions. He's a greedy pig. He's a hog at the trough. It's not about his weight. It's about the size of his soul. It's like the Grinch's was, before he got reformed. But I don't think Dr. Suess would know what the hell to do w/people like Christie.

Before we knight him let’s wait a while. He seems to be uncovering a politician’s veneer after all. As examples I cite the following:1. The Atlantic City entertainment district creation. The State still cannot run itself and it’s going to save AC. I think five years from now it will either be in the same straits it is now, only difference is the political hack and his entourage appointed to oversee the project.2. The Ft. Monmouth development authority he announced will become nothing more than a bonding source where the money is syphoned off into the State’s general revenues and another cronie appointed to head it enjoying a fat paycheck that will pump up his pension and lifetime health benefits after he retires in 3 years. Question, why didn’t Christie turn this entire project over to private developers? Answer, paybacks baby, paybacks.3. By the end of his term the pension fund will still be dangerously underfunded, and abuses by double dipping (and more) politicians will be greater than ever, the State’s ability to meet it’s bond obligations will still be there (in fact it will have grown), and State debt will also be greater than ever. I think Chris Christie will become a lot more like the other Christie than the savior of the national Republican Party as some are feeling he wil. And I also think that time will prove me right! cheap car insurance auto insurance quotes

NJ is a nuke state (53% in 2005 per USDOE). “Investing” heavily in heavily subsidized wind.Paraphrasing the Gov, his solution is NG, CFLs and proper inflation of tires (efficiecency) and federal subsidies for wind. Juts like Obama except for the NG and the anti-fracking lobby will foreclose that avenue. Guess he and Romney (must reduce carbon based life activities) have decided that any other energy position is not politically convenient.. Looks like they’re right when you’ve got Steve Hayward over at PowerLine acknowledging that there is only room for a “1-inch” deep debate and advisingRomney to acknowledge that current warming is caused by man (to some unknowable extent) and it could be catastrophic although he doubts it. Hayward just used up his inch of the debate on these acknowledgments before getting into his material. Anyway, I’m not feeling good about the ability to resist alamism and central government (and UN and NGO) control of our economic activitiies, or to provide cheap abundant energy independent of the imagined fear / concern of the day. auto owners insurance car insureance

I think Joe Kyrillos is clearly the underdog but he can win this race if he talks about real issues. One of those real issues he needs to talk about is Sen. Menendez’s support of the Mass Transit Tunnel which may have cost NJ taxpayers as much as 10 billion dollars to finance their share of the project when you consider cost overruns if Chris Christie hadn’t put a stop to it. That 10 billion dollars would have been spent on 44,000 commuters (increase in peak morning capacity of system). That is a capital appropriation of $227,272 for each commuter. How idiotic is this? You could supply each of those commuters with bus transport for 40 years (even luxury buses) at the same cost of building this tunnel. Who would support this type of project to the extent that Bob Menendez has? Yes, the project will have benefits to some. It will bring massive benefits to the real estate barons who own land near the proposed terminal in NYC. It will benefit politicians getting kickbacks from contractors. And, it will provide construction jobs. But why the heck should NJ taxpayers bear the cost of this project. cheap car insurance auto insurance quotes

Maybe a poll of the residents of pennsauken township would be a good place to start, the questions could be something like this.Did you know that Governor Christie signed a bill allowing school boards to move their elections to november?Did you know that you will not be able to vote on a school budget if it at or below the 2% cap imposed by Governor christie?Did you know that the Board of education took away your right to vote on a school budget?Do you trust your school board to make decisions without your opportunity for input?this is something that the board of education didn’t do when they voted to move the elections to november. How many people in pennsauken really know about the shenanigans being perpetrated by the board of education and the democraptic big wigs in this township? It is now time to remove these so called servants of the public and put them on the receiving end for a change. Lets give them an early Christmas Present this year and vote them out of office. and Mr. Mcsmith there is a blinking light in the corner of your right eye this known as a board member disipation light and yours and your friends lights just went into overdrive. doxycycline auto insurance quotes

Pops, being diabetic is genetic, and what you eat has nothing to do with what age you start getting the symptoms, as that is hard-wired into your body. However, once your body has gone into diabetes, your diet can sometimes control it to a certain extent. You cannot be “cured” of diabetes, you can only control it to the point of not having the particular symptoms that we associate with diabetes. If you could be cured, then you could go back to eating anything you want.As an example: I have a non-functioning thyroid gland. By taking synthroid, I am “cured” of the symptom of having too little of the substance that the synthroid replaces. However, I am not cured of my underlying thyroid problem, and cannot be. I have taken synthroid since I was eleven years old, and will continue to take it the rest of my life.It is funny that we have both obesity and diabetes epidemics, and yet deaths from heart attacks, strokes, and such are falling, and we are living longer and more productive lives. And, point of fact, what the heck does the term obesity mean? Did anyone do a study to determine what a “normal” weight is, or do an analysis of what weights are optimal to good health and longevity? This is very much like the idea that everyone needs a certain amount of fiber in their diet to be healthy, it was pulled out of thin air and presented as gospel truth, and it has seldom been questioned. We can put that idea up on the shelf along with salt being bad, and you should drink 8 glasses of water a day, and exercise makes you healthy. free car insurance quotes car insurance qoutes
